The delicious and mouthwatering Oats methi dhokla is a famous dish of Gujarat and is very much popular in the whole worldwide. It’s an ideal recipe for every occasion. The flavorful and saporous ingredients are the key to the amazing taste of Oats methi dhokla. It is not a typical restaurant style recipe but a simple homely comforting recipe.

  • For dhokla -Half cup rolled oats
  • Half cup Semolina
  • Half cup chopped Methi leaves
  • 1 tsp Ginger paste
  • 1 tsp green Chilli paste
  • 1 cup Curd
  • Salt as per taste
  • Fruit Salt as required
  • 2 tsp Lemon juice
  • 2 tsp Oil
  • For tempering – 1 tsp Mustard Seeds
  • 1 tsp Sesame Seeds
  • 2-3 green Chillies split
  • 4-5 Curry Leaves

  1. First, dry roast oats into a pan and let it cool down.

  2. Then in a mixer grind it and make fine a powder.

  3. In a big bowl add oats powder , semolina and curd . Mix well .

  4. Now add methi leaves, ginger green chilli paste, salt as per taste, oil and lemon juice and mix well .

  5. Grease one Thali or pot with oil.

  6. Now add fruit salt to the dhokla batter. Mix gently.

  7. Immediately pour into greased Thali. Put it on a steamer and steam it for about 15 minutes.

  8. Dhokla is ready. Let it cool down and cut into small pieces.

  9. For tempering- take one pan to add 2 tsp oil, when oil is getting hot, add mustard seeds, sesame seeds, and curry leaves.

  10. Add split green chilies. Turn off the gas. Pour this tempering on dhokla pieces.

  11. Oats methi dhokla is ready. Serve hot with green chutney.
