Oats are incredibly nutritious cereals. They’re a gluten-free whole grain and a great source of important vitamins, minerals, fibre and antioxidants. Oats poha is the best snack which can be eaten during breakfast, tea-time or lunch box. Use this incredibly healthy, yet tasty poha recipe for your friends & family!

Serving – 2 people

INGREDIENTS –

  • 1 cup – oats
  • 1 – green chilli finely chopped
  • 1/2 cup – Onion finely chopped
  • 1/2 cup – Tomatoes finely chopped
  • 1/4 cup – peanuts roasted
  • 1/4 cup – Cilantro finely chopped
  • 1 tsp – Mustard Seeds
  • 1/2 tsp – Lemon juice
  • 1/4 tsp – Turmeric
  • A pinch of asofetida
  • Salt & oil as required

INSTRUCTIONS –

  1. Take a pan or wok, roast the oats for 2 mins on a medium gas. Keep it aside.
  2. Heat oil in the same pan, add mustard seeds and asafoetida, when it cracks, add green chilli, onions, turmeric and salt. Stir for 3-4 mins.
  3. Add tomatoes cook for 3-4 mins or until tomatoes become tender on medium gas.
  4. Add Oats and mix them well.
  5. Cook it for 3-4 mins on medium-low gas.
  6. Turn off the gas.
  7. Add lemon juice.
  8. Mix the mixture well.
  9. Garnish with cilantro & peanuts.

Chef’s tip:- There is no need to add water. You can add other vegetables like bell peppers, carrots etc as well.
